Details:
In 2006 Body and fender was completed and we have been awaiting the paint
color of choice......The paint process will take a few weeks and then the
process of putting the car back together and rubbing out and details,
details, details.......
Roger inherited this car form his father with the intentions of restoring
it. It sat outside long enough for the bottom portion of the car to rot.
When he brought the '55
Cad into the shop
October of 2002 Jerry knew it was time to section the body. In doing
so the upper portion was married to the bottom of a '55 Hard top body,
however the wheel wells needed to be modified as the Hard top and
Convertible though the same have different wheel opening dimensions. Labor
intensive as it was, the modification came out beautifully. Roger recently
saw some fender skirts and thought maybe that would have been easier.
(That's cheating!) Roger has worked on the Cadillac very hard and actually
drove the '55 on it's Maiden voyage to Paso Robles 2004. What a test
drive!!!! While this car is a driver as it was it still needed paint, so
March of 2005 Roger gave us the go ahead to put this baby back to it's original
state all dressed up in white paint. We are shooting for August check
it out at our Open house 2005. His dad would have been proud to see the
Caddy looking so good!
